Boston Red Sox 10, Cleveland Indians 3
The Indians got off to a good start in the top of the first inning when Travis Hafner jacked a solo homer off of Josh Beckett but it was all down hill from there. Beckett straightened out after the first inning and he handcuffed the Tribe through six innings. Casey Blake (2 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 runs scored) and Kenny Lofton (2 for 4 with 2 doubles) each swung the bat real well. Rookie Asdrubal Cabrera also pitched in with the bat as he was 1 for 3 with 2 RBIs.
C.C. Sabathia had probably his worst start of the season as he was the losing pitcher last night. He only lasted 4.1 innings and he allowed 7 hits, 8 earned runs, walked 5 batters and whiffed 3. Jensen Lewis followed him in the game and he wasn’t much better as he worked 2/3 of an inning and he allowed 3 hits and 2 earned runs. Aaron Fultz had a night to forget as he pitched to 2 batters and he walked one of them (Manny Ramirez) with the bases loaded. Tom Mastny and Joe Borowski finished up the game with 3 scoreless innings for the Tribe. The Indians are now down 1-0 to the Red Sox in this series.
